Hasselt/Hoeselt, August 23, 2011. Investment Company LRM will invest 500,000 euros in the expansion of the Ter Hulst care home in Hoeselt. Ter Hulst will invest a total of 4.2 million euros in order to increase bed capacity from 22 to 62 beds.
Personal approach
At this moment, the Ter Hulst Care Home has 22 beds. Within this small-scale setting, it offers professional care to both its slightly and severely care-dependent residents. Marc Gerrits, his wife, and their son, manage the care home. Ter Hulst is characterised by a family atmosphere and a personal approach - assets that are crucial to the operation of the care home.
Growth & scale size
However, the scale up is necessary in order to guarantee the professional operation of the care home. The current bed capacity will therefore be increased by 40 beds, to a total of 62 beds. This will make Ter Hulst eligible for official recognition to house severely care-dependent people. After being awarded this recognition, the care home will be entitled to adequate government compensation for the care of the latter group.
This new investment is an important step in the long-term amenity of Ter Hulst, and thus essential for the continuity of the familiarity and the personal approach.
4.2 million
The expansion will be realised in a new building next to the current building in Hoeselt.
The total investment will amount to 4.2 million euros, of which 500,000 euros will be for the account of LRM, by means of a subordinated loan. The principal banker and the initiator will provide the remaining funds.
The groundwork has started. The official inauguration of the new care home is anticipated for September 2012.
The expansion will provide employment for an additional 15 individuals.
