Hasselt, 19 January 2011. Genano Benelux NV has installed a new, highly innovative air purification system at the oncology department of the AZ Vesalius Hospital in Tongeren. The Genano Tube XS offers improved air quality for both patients and hospital staff. Eight rooms were equipped with the cutting-edge technology, representing an investment of EUR 30,000.
Tailor-made innovative technology
Seeking to offer maximum comfort for oncology patients at its day care hospital, the AZ Vesalius Hospital was looking for a new ventilation system.
It soon emerged that the existing market offer did not meet their standards.
After consultation with the hospital, Genano therefore took the initiative of developing an entirely new system: the GenanoTube XS.
The results are excellent. Capable of filtering particles in excess of 0.001 micrometer in size, the GenanoTube XS removes fungi, bacteria and viruses from the indoor air, representing an obvious benefit to patients, hospital and visitors alike.
Danny Baillien, head nurse: “Aside from being an excellent filtering system, the GenanoTube XS is also very silent and eco-friendly. Those very features made us decide to go ahead with it.”
Eight rooms at the AZ Vesalius Hospital have meanwhile been equipped with the GenanoTube XS.
Tailored to solve any air purification problem
Seppe Thys, Genano’s managing director explains: “What makes the GenanoTube XS special is the fact that it can be adapted to any specific situation that requires a purification solution. The system uses a cartridge equipped with a unique collector that can be adjusted to meet the prevailing air requirements. Course filters for heavily polluted environments or active coal filters to neutralise gases and unpleasant odours can be added to the cartridge. Consequently, the GenanoTube XS is highly suitable for not only applications in the medical sector and polluting manufacturing units, but also for office buildings.”
